My youngest son could not ride with me last Saturday so he wanted to cycle with me today. When my riding buddy Tajuddin suggested that we ride from Putrajaya to Cyberjaya,I immediately said yes and decided to go and join him.He suggested we ride 12km and have breakfast at The Mall.Since I know the place,it did not scare me about cycling there.
On the way,I enjoyed good sceneries as typical of Putrajaya and Cyberjaya landscapes but the long climbs to a few elevated intersections are quite challenging on my weak and old knees.Surely it is not for newbies~one needs good stamina to overcome the hurdles.
On the way, I tried to ride on the bike lanes but there were not enough trees compared to the promenade areas around Putrajaya. On one stretch of the lane,we had to pass though almost 100m underpass with no light at all!Very dangerous indeed if one is cycling alone.
After having roti bakar and half boiled eggs at Hassan Cafe,we took a detour to pay a visit to MMU.There, our group of 9 cyclists was given permission to go around but with an escort[a security guard riding a motor-cycle] to ensure that we behave ourselves.
This time,my son was using my folding bike[FB] and I was using my MTB trek 3700 with semi sleek tyres.I thought it is lighter for me for long distance cycling but I discovered that FB is a better alternative for me to ride on road.In my case, since I am scared riding the real roadies,FB is MY roadies.
