Wearing a helmet is quite weird to me initially, but for safety reasons,I have to wear it.Some folks at my Kampung Pandan had given me a stare when they saw me going to Pasar Wirawati for teh tarik wearing a cyclist helmet after my morning MTB ride.Previously I used to wear kopiah. This morning ride at FRIM taught me another new lesson. On the way back for Sg Buloh Hospital to FRIM Cafe,my sweats were flowing a lot and some managed to into my right eyes.It was very painful that I have to stop and hot help from a fellow rider Fadzil to wipe the salty sweat from my eyes. Thanks Fadzil.
When I told this episode to my buddies while we had our 'recharge' at FRIM Cafe after the ride, someone recommended me to use a headband. For someone at my age to wear a headband,it looks a little bit 'over-dressed', but I must get it to prevent the salty sweats from my eyes. However, I will wear it while cycling at FRIM or Broga and NOT around my kampung!
I arrived a bit late at our RV around 7:45am. Azman and Kimi were there much earlier. While getting our riding gears ready, Pak Mad came around. He is a veteran of FRIM.He is 60 years old but he rides better than me and younger men.I invited him to join us but he said he was waiting for his riding buddy Pak Aru Aru.Another of his friends are Pak Kamal and Pak Lee.This is one great example of 1Malaysia veteran team roaming all over the hills within FRIM area.

Four of us,led by Azman aka AKI and followed by Kimi,Fadzil and me went up to the base of Steroid Hill.We took a few minutes rest and later we rode to Kg Melayu,Bukit Lagong. To our lovely suprise,Pak Mad and Pak Aru were waiting for us to take beyong another hill and all the way to Hospital Sg Buloh and back. While taking some juice to replenished those lost waters,I saw Pak Kamal came smiling on a Merida bike.It was a deja vu for me because I hope and prayed he would take us to Sg Buloh.[our previous trip led by Pak Aru was halted due to bad weather].Pak Kamal also told me that he wanted to call me for this ride!Believe me,God works in mysterious way indeed!
Special Note: I tried to use The Sport Tracker in my Nokia E71, but it crashed after after a few minutes Then,I just abondoned it.
Below is the photo of the trail that I could not cycle more than a few meters. It was a long climb of 30 to 45 degrees. The Three Musketeers of FRIM happily rode to the top leaving a few of us puffing all the way up-not riding but pushing our bikes.Beyond the peak,we had our rewards-a long and cool downhill all the way to Sg Buloh Hospital.
