Bicycle for Business
This bicycle belongs to a grass-cutter.I took this photo while he was busy cutting grass using a machine that hanged on his shoulders.You can see a few plastic bottles containing petrol.My heart sank when it reminded me of some expensive bicycles[that cost > 5k] used by my riding buddies to have fun.And this man,uses a few hundreds ringgit bicycle to earn money to feed his family. In this case, I am guilty as charged when I am thinking to upgrade my MTB to a few thousands of ringgit..

No weekends cycling
During this coming weekend and next weekend,I will be busy helping my brother in law for his daughter wedding in KL and in Penang.Looking at the calendar,I may be able to join my riding buddies only from 13th June or later.My apologies for not being bale to be with you guys/gals.
To my PERs members,I also cannot join the coming PCM at Putrajaya because I have to attend my next door neighbour's son wedding.As one gets older,his weekend is busier than his weekedays..Ini belum ada cucu lagi..
To my cycling friends,enjoy your rides and be safe all the time.

Six men and two boys went up a hill..
Yesterday,Allah answered my prayer when Aru just came to our RV point a few minutes before my briefing and our bicycle wheels about to roll.I was supposed to show the cycling trail to 5 men and two boys to Sg Buluh Hospital beyond Steroid Hill,FRIM{Some months back, Aru,Kamal and Lee took me and Bi there but I forgot the route.}
Aru lives about 200 metres away from FRIM. He cycles here about every other day and knows the terrains and the geography and POI's of FRIM and surrounding areas like the back of his hand.Along the ride,he showed us the short cuts and the routes I have never seen/ridden before.Thank you Aru for your kind assistance to my riding buddies and me!
We started about 8.45am and finished around 11.30am.The distance covered was almost 28km in about 2.5 hours.Before we went home,my friends told me that they had a great ride.That made my day!I am gratefull to Allah swt for a safe and enjoyable ride for all of us.
Next trip,Aru and his buddy Kamal will me to Bukit Bujang.
My next FRIM ride with my fellow PER riders will be either on 13 or 20th of June,2009

Nasi manis(wajik) is good for you!
Nasi manis is good for cycling.It is turbo charged with carbo from the pulut and the manisan.If one keeps eating it every week for six months,rupa paras akan bertambah manis,hatta kencing pun manis!
Joking aside,this is my favourite dessert when I am at my kampong in Kelantan.To my fellow cycling buddies,enjoy your weekend ride.Be safe..

I am humbled..
While at the Pasar Wirawati this morning,I saw this old man.He shops everyday and today I managed to see snap a photo of him with his British topee.I guess he is about 80 years old.He came to buy some vegetables and coconuts and later took them on his bike.His bike must be at least half his age-all made of metal.
I am humbled when I look at his bicycle and compared to mine.May Allah forgive me for not being grateful enough for His blessings on me.

70km behind schedule..
On checking my cycling log,I noticed that I am now 70km behind my scheduled.This can be translated into 7 days of cycling From my cycling calendar,I have to cycle 20km for each ride to meet the target! That is not possible considering my other commitments.The best I could do for this month is about 150km.
Next event: FRIM Ride this Saturday 23rd May,2009.Details will be announced by our Ride leader,Ghazali in due course.If anyone interested to join,let me know.

Cycling is for everyone
Thank God that I have discovered cycling even at the late stage of my life.I hope to enjoy this fun exercise as long as I can.From my past 6 months of 200km a month cycling,I found it good for my physical well being and I made new friends and enjoy their friendships.When Friday comes,I always have something to look forward to.
It is fun to ride!
Note: To my riding buddies,I will be away in the next four days on family and business matters.Hope to join you guys next weekend.Enjoy your ride and take care all the time.

About 10 years ago..
While going through the old photo albums looking for my late grandma photos,my wife discovered these photos of my first public encounter with mountain biking.It was on 20th Nov, 1999 where Nadim,Siva and me took part in Kajang MTB Open-an international event for MTB riders.Owing to our belly sizes and not our age,we were put under the category of XXL-Rider(>38inches).I wrote a note about it and MTBR.com picked it for international readers.
The trail was very interesting,in fact too technical for novices like me and Nadim.We did not complete the whole trail but we enjoyed like crazy;-)
The photo the right showed Siva,my next door neighbour and me.At that time,I did not even have a helmet.So he went around and got one for me.Now, he works in US due to bad recession around that period.
