Endless rewards for the muttaqins..

Let me share these ayats from surah Saad:

49. This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaq�n (pious and righteous persons - see V.2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), -,

50. 'Adn (Edn) Paradise (everlasting Gardens), whose doors will be open for them, [It is said (in Tafsir At-Tabar�, Part 23, Page 174) that one can speak to the doors, just one tells it to open and close, and it will open or close as it is ordered].

51. Therein they will recline; therein they will call for fruits in abundance and drinks;

52. And beside them will be chaste females (virgins) restraining their glances only for their husbands, (and) of equal ages.

53. This it is what you (Al-Muttaq�n - the pious) are promised for the Day of Reckoning!

54. (It will be said to them)! Verily, this is Our Provision which will never finish;

If only they know..

After our solat terawih tonight,the majority went for the moreh and left only the 'regulars' to stay back to attend another very important event-Majlis Qatam Qur'an.

If only they knew...

This is a glaring evidence of jahil in benefiting from ibadah sunat during Ramadhan.

Tomorrow night our surau is having Majlis Khatam Qur'an.I told my wife and children to come with me to attend this blessed majlis.Every time,I am about to attend majlis khatam Qur'an, it reminds me of my visit to Mahktabah  Abdullah Ibnu Abbas,located at Taif,about 80+km from Makkah.Here is the note I wrote a few years back.

If you happen to be near this majlis,just drop by for the barakah.Better, be there from beginning to the end.

Wahai sekelian..

Let me share with you some wise words from a sufi:

"Sekelian manusia itu Mati,
Kecuali mereka yang Berilmu,
Sekelian yang Berilmu itu tidur,
Kecuali mereka yang beramal,
Sekelian yang beramal itu dalam Tipu-Daya,
Kecuali mereka yang Ikhlas,
Sekalian yang Ikhlas itu
Sentiasa dalam kebimbangan."

While going through some photos at my Flickr website,I discovered this photo I took more than two years ago after attending a lecture by Prof Dr Syed Naguib al-Attas.On the invitation of Prof Dr Wan Mohd Nor,I took a lot of courage to sit on the same table with one of the great contemporary muslim thinker and scholar for coffee after the lecture.

While we were having chats,one attendee came and sought some answers from the great professor.Just look at the photo I snapped and see the intimate relationship between the teacher and the student.This kind of personal touch meant a lot to me.The Malay phrase of 'anak murid' is full of meaning!

Talking about meaning,the professor said that knowledge only comes with the arrival of meaning or the meaning arrives at the soul.

I shot the flower;-)

Few electronic ketupat

May be it is the sign of the time..I only saw a few electronic ketupat hanging around above the concourse of KLCC Suria this year.The decoration is minimal.Suprisingly there were many people around yesterday and I have ample space to browse the Kinokuniya for a book by Mark Forster on Getting Everything Done.Sadly,the bookshop does not even have a copy.Above  is the shot I got by snapping a photo using my Nokia E71 phone.

I could still remember that it was Tim who mentioned about moleskine notebook in bookcafe mailinglist about five years ago.Immediately,I took up the hobby of writing journal in a notebook by buying a cahier notebook.I am glad to note that I am still at it-always write a personal journal a few times in a week.

Posting notes to my blog is for public consumption but writing a personal note is a very private affair between me and the notebook.It is more like personal conversation with oneself but it is recorded using pen and paper.

So far,it has done me a lot of good.Insyaallah,i shall continue to do it as long as I can.Whenever, I went on a journey,I never fail write what I experienced while on the journey.It gave me great pleasure to read these notes later..

The photo showed me writing my journal in a restaurant some time in January,2006.

Matrix Jangkaan Lailatul Qadar

Bukanlah urusan saya untuk meneka bila datangnya Lailatul Qadar.Kerja kita buat ibadat dan memohon rahmah dan maghfirah dari Allah swt jua.Pada fahaman saya ,kita hanya berusaha dan Allah swt jualah yang menentukan siapa diantara kita akan akan dapat rahmat seribu bulan.Berikut saya petik dari blog kawan saya(Abdul Karim Omar) dimana beliau ada membuat matrix pelbagai pandangan berkaitan tarikh kedatangan Lailatul Qadar.
