Malaysian art
During my visit to an art gallery,I was informed by the owner that a few good Malaysian arts had been flown out from our country by those who have the money.When I asked why,I was told that not many Malaysian individuals and organisations are buying Malaysian arts.I don't know whether this is true or not, but next week I am going to visit the Director General of Malaysian National Art Galley.
Being trained in engineering field,I have little interests in art and almost zero knowledge of the subject matter.As I moved higher into the top management position in corporate world, my rich friends started inviting me to special previews of regional master pieces of artwork hosted by Sotheby of London.Honestly, I attended the gathering just for business networking and good food at 5-star hotel.Each painting shown to us was priced ranging from RM10,000 to RM50,000 per piece.That was way out from my reach as a GM.However, my interest in art grew due to exposure from accompanying my CEO when we were visiting art galleries or auction houses overseas.
In 1997,I took my family to Paris for a family holiday and I took an opportunity to visit Museum Louvre where we could see Mona Lisa.I think that is the turning point where my interest in art really took off.
Whenever,I am on business trip overseas,I always look out for nice small painting but cheap enough for me to buy.So far, I have bought a few paintings from Malaysia,Australia,Paris and South Africa-all costing less than RM500 each.

RWW Project
I was there as an observer trying to get feedback on how the public would respond to such an event.A few just passed without looking because they were rushing some where.Some looked at the group of people reading and continue talking and walking...Honestly I don't know the impact of the RWW Project.
May be my friends from Bookcrossers should also be there giving away books to enhance the event and create conversations about books and readings..

Engineering failure?
The photo shows a failed embankment protection at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa.It is very unsightly and it reminds me of my engineer friends at DBKL.Nothing was seen done to rehabilitate the bank of the lake.
IMHO, this is not an engineering failure but more of the result of the neglect by those responsible for facilities management.

Taman Bunga Ibu Ku
This garden is located next to my mom's kitchen.It is easier for her to look after her flowers and at the same time she can just see those beautiful flowers from her kitchen.By the way, most of her time are there because that is where we family members come and visit her.
