Whenever I heard my friends are in Cameron Highland,I will call them or send text message asking their favours to buy me Blue Valley tea(plus some cookies). My first encounter with this brand was when I accompanied my former boss Dato' R to visit one tea estate for the purpose of business evaluation of a company there for a corporate take-over(in mid-80's).I was made to understand then that this tea was manufactured for export to UK only.I don't know how far it was true but I was sure that this Blue Valley tea was not available in KL during that period.By the way, to the best of my knowledge(I hope it is wrong),Blue Valley tea is still not available yet in Klang Valley. Can someone confirm or deny this?
Looking back,I was wondering where did I get 'hooked' on drinking good quality tea...Not likely in England when I was a student in early 70's.It must be the mid 80's when I was a corporate executive.
Just to share a little family secret: My wife is very good at making earl grey teh tarik.I am quite sure you will forget about teh tarik from mamak restaurants when you get the taste of EGTT( earl grey teh tarik).
Note: The photo shows what I got this morning when my friend MHI delivered to me on my request during from his latest visit to Cameron Highland.
