Sketch:Tulips

My first encounter with tulips was when my wife and me visited Holland in April,1987.Ten years later,we went there again but the time was wrong and I came back with three wooden tulip flowers(as shown on the right).Last year(2012),I went to visit my friends in Leiden and we went for a photowalk in Kuekenhof.I had a field day walking around snapping beautiful photos.

Below is my sketch of the tulips..Tulips are very beautiful but I have great difficulties to sketch them.With more pratice and learning a few more techniques,I hope I can sketch these tulips better.On the left is the photo of the real tulips.

One lesson I learn from doing sketch of beautiful flowers is the power and creativity of Allah's creations!Subhanallah..He created from nothing and I can't even make a nice sketch of them!

Playing with lines..

I am not an artist but enjoy doing simple sketches using minimum 'artwork'.Here is one of them that I like..as they say,simplicity is beauty.

Wet sketch

Sketching is another form of my meditation.It keeps my mind glued to the iPad screen and isolated me from the rest of the world.It is a domain where my mind and my hand are having fun to create something that makes me feel good about what I have done..

After buying Paper53 apps at Appstore more than 6 months ago,I began to learn on my own on how to sketch and and I love it.When I think I have sketched something worth sharing with my friends,I upload them on my blog/facebook.This one above is one of them.
