Tip:To see blue Putrajaya Lake..

If you are visiting Alamanda,Putrajaya,just walk to The RASA Food Court and go out through the back door and walk down the stairs and you shall arrive at the lakeside and see this view.This place is only accessable by walking/cycling by the public and my cycling group cycle here almost every week.

Putrajaya has more beautiful places than I can count with my fingers but we must walk or cycle there.Better still,join me cycling-good for eyes,legs and heart..

To my friends in Putrajaya,please keep the water clean so that it remains blue all the time..

Morning walk at Taman Botani,Putrajaya

Previously,I parked my car at the entrance to Taman Botani but yesterday I changed my routine to park my car at Pusat Rekreasi Air.My wife and me walked all the way to Restoran Seafood where we fed the fish in the lake with some biscuits.

It was about 8am and the sun was shining but we walked under the shade of leafy trees all the way.As we walked ,we talked about the serenity and the beauty of the trees,the leaves and stopped to smell the flowers.As usual I took some photos..

I love Bunga Kenanga as shown below.The sweet smell made me plucked a few to bring home and I put these flowers on my pillow-just like what my mother did in the 60's.

Along the way I saw some beautiful trees and flowers.Below is a nice big yellow hibiscus flower staring at us:

After feeding the fish,my wife befriended  one of the gardeners and he taught my wife  how to plant and take care of orchids.Here are a few photos of orchids found around Taman Botani,Putrajaya,Malaysia.

We had great time together and I planned to do a photowalk with my friends next month.The walk took about 1.5 hours and the distance covered was about 5km.Good for the body,mind and the soul..

ILAM Awards Dinner

First,let me congratulate ILAM(Insitute of Landscape Architect Malaysia) for the the great event and its noble efforts to recognise and rewards great ideas and projects in landscape work.Second,let me thank my friends in Perbadanan Putrajaya for your kindness in inviting me to attend the dinner because I played a small part in PIPR (Putrajaya Inter Parks Rides)that bagged an excellent awards for green city living by ILAM.

In this photo taken by me via my ipad(apologies for blurred image),my friends Akasah and Niza are holding their award certificates.Congratulations to you and your team and to Perbadanan Putrajaya.I noticed that Tan Seri Dato Seri Aseh smiling from ear to ear because of so many awards.

As an engineer,I salute from fellow professionals in landscape architecture for your genius and creativity to make our city greener and more beautiful.As a committee member of PIPR,I believe and promote HEALTHY PARKS HEALTHY PEOPLE.

The BIG Tree in Gua Musang

Yes,it is..No matter how big is the forest,it is the individual tree that matters....Its trunk girth size is 14.7m and 40 metres tall~about 10 storeys high!I hope the state government of Kelantan will take care of these trees and turn it into tourisn pruducts and not neglecting like World War 11 bunkers along Bachok coast lines being swallowed by South China Sea..

Many trees..

Have you walked around the gardens and lakes at Putrajaya Wetland?It is a bit isolated during weekend...so take your friends and family members along...

As we walk I asked my wife the names of some of the flowers and the trees.Both of seems to know very little..Forgive my ignorance but what if my grandson were to ask me about them?I will be ashamed not knowing...Trees are every where..I think the most abundant of all living things and yet how many of us care about them.From a little knowledge I learnt at school,trees replenish our global oxygen stock everyday.We will be breathless without them!

I have nothing much to write today,so herewith I post this photo of a nice place where I stop to drink some water and enjoy the view during my mountain bike ride...

Weekend wetland walk...

At last I managed to get my wife to join me walking at the wetlands.Previously,she was afraid because she was brought in the town and seldom walked in padi fields or jungles like me who loved to roam his kampong and padi fields and wetlands looking for fighting fish and fun..

I did not blame her because when we walk in the wetlands,most of the time we are alone with natural habitats.One can get scared if one walks for 5km and see not a soul.I love walking or cycling in the wetlands because I love to see and listen to the flora and fauna in their natural ambience...Below is one location where I just love to sit and listen to the birds on the trees..
