Dear Readers,

Thank you very much for reading my blog posting this year and to many of my loyal blog followers who keep reading  my blog for more than a decade.Thank you and God willing,I shall keep writing..

Let us all thank Allah for His blessings and I am grateful that I am still around today-60 years old.It is the last day of 2012 and let us pray and hope the New Year 2013 will be better for all of us.

Here is a tumblr blog where I keep my sketching copies.Since I bought Paper53,it keeps me sketching almost daily for the last six months.To-date,I have done more than 200 sketches using Paper53(an apps from Apple Store,rated the best for 2012).It is worth every penny.

I am an engineer by training and knew very little about art or sketching.When I started some time in June,2012 I don't like to see what I have sketched.Slowly I saw how others had done and learnt along the way way.When I got my confidence,I uploaded some to my blogs/facebook.A few of my friends liked my sketchings and they kept giving motivating comments that made me put more efforts to make them better.Why I sketck?

Looking back at my moleskine notebooks,I have done a few sketches since 2006 but less than 50 in the last six years.With Paper53,I sketch everyday..So,don't be shy,just sketch and keep sketching.It is good for your body and mind.

SDARA Photowalk

Thanks to DKN and Capt. Ab. Rahman and son for coming to SDARA Photowalk.Today,I have learnt a lot of lessons from my sifu Capt. Rahman.This photo was taken using his idea to think differently so that we could have our photos different from others.Normally,I would snap this shot with my camera inside the wooden fence;but today I did it differently and got this shot..Our special topic for today was macro shots.Next,it will be night shots.

Resco Sudoku

Last week, a friend came to my house and showed me how to play this computer game called Sudoku.The child in me immediately got interested and downloaded this game of logic so I can polish my thinking skill like him. By the way,my friend is a member of MENSA- a group of high IQ people. Hopefully,after playing with this game, I am ready to sit for MENSA test? This must be a joke for I am no MENSA  material.

I have a flip flop relationship with Sudoku...I began to play the game about six years ago.After a few months,I gave it up and forgot all about it.In 2011,I pick it up again but it did not last long...and yesterday,I played it again.

Healthy dinner?
Honestly,I have a big problem that weighs about 10kg right on my front.I tried to eat light dinners and do more exercises but it is very incalcitrant!This naan and tandoori chicken is my favourite light dinner.

Leaves by design

Last weekend,I took my cycling tribe to Taman Botani,Putrajaya.This garden has so many different species that if I were to be reborn and live another 50 years,I would not be able to know all their names.As I cycle,I noticed and took notes of what I saw and when I went home I tried my best to draw those nice shapes,colours and patterns...

Here is one of them...Please don't ask me the name of this plant because I am an old engineer who did not study any biology and botany.Only a few days ago,I began to read about bio-morphology.

What is hidden..

Brunch at Umai Cafe

It is a public holiday in Malaysia,our PUR group met for our usual Putrajaya Morning Ride.We did about 15km around The Core Island ina group about more than a dozen of us.

As a group,we have already embraced a regular weekly cycling exercise but we have yet to cycle to work or to do our household chores by cycling a bike around our neighbourhood.

We have a long way to go...We need to review and redesign and reconstruct our cycling infrastructure as well as develop a cycling culture..

The cycle path to happiness..

I'm incapable of emptying my mind but there have been occasions on my bike when I realise I have no recollection of the preceding miles. Whether during solo pursuits along country lanes in spring, or noisy, dirty commutes, time can pass unnoticed in a blissful blur of rhythm and rolling.

It's not a new sensation. In 1896 at the height of the first cycling boom, a feature in the The New York Times said this about the activity: "It has the unique virtue of yielding a rate of speed as great as that of the horse, nearly as great as that attained by steam power, and yet it imposes upon the consciousness the fact that it is entirely self-propulsion."

The writer, credited only as "ANJ", continues: "In the nature of the motion is another unique combination. With the great speed there are the subtle glide and sway of skating, something of the yacht's rocking, a touch of the equestrian bounce, and a suggestion of flying. The effect of all this upon the mind is as wholesomely stimulating as is the exercise to the body."

From my experience who has just began to enjoy cycling since August,2008 ,I hereby confirm that cycling did a lot of wonders to my mind and body.Of course I enjoyed cycling when I was a kid but I forgot how it was because 50 years has gone by...

Since two weeks ago,I now go to my mosque using my bicycle..

If I am not mistaken,Einstein got his Theory of Relativity while he was cycling..
