During the last few weeks,my youngest son has joined me cycling at nights and in the morning at Putrajaya.Previously,I was using using my Dahon folding bikes and he was using my old Trek3700.At times,he prefers to ride my Dahon and I ride my MTB Trek 6600.
I don't need a MTB to ride on-roads at Putrajaya. In fact, folding bike is good enough. That is why I saw a sudden took-up of the folding bike riders in the city. Since both of us enjoy relaxed on-road rides, then we need two folding bikes. It costs at least RM700 but then I feel it is better to convert my old Trek 3700 to urban bike.To make it looks like Trek District Urban Bike(which cost almost RM3,000),I need to change the chain and the fork. Both are not cheap and I am not willing to spend another RM1000.If it's around a few hundreds, then it is okay.
My DIY is not qualified to be called Urban Bikes,so I will just call it SUB as mentioned above. To start with today,I got my bike serviced, changed saddle to more confortable one and replace 3 years old handle bars holders.Below is the photo:-
I bought this bike for RM1300 in 2008.The bikeshop owner offered to buy it for RM600 but I refused because I love the Trek frame and it is still in good condition.
