Yesterday I began to write my journal in the ruled moleskine given by Firdaus Ibnu Ariff after he returned from his first ummrah.According to him,the moleskine he gave it to me was travelling with him to Indonesia and Makkah and Madinah.Thank you Firdaus.

What Firdaus did reminded me of my umrah trip to Makkah and Madinah in 2007.Every where I went,I took my moleskine notebook to record what I saw,heard and felt.It was very convenient and fast.During my Haj in 2003,I have written my journals in three notebooks.The contents are too personal and sensitive for public domain.They shall remain inside these notebooks-just for me and my family members..

This photo was taken when I was walking along Pantai Irama as the sun was going up but hidden by a dark cloud.This is what I saw -the sky,the sea and the beach almost have the same colour.Lesson: At some time,three different things[eg:the good,the bad and the the ugly] may look the same.We need knowledge to know the differences..

“Mereka berkehendak memadamkan cahaya Allah dengan mulut-mulut mereka, dan Allah tidak menghendaki kecuali menyempurnakan cahaya-Nya atas segala agama, walaupun orang-orang musyrik itu tidak menyukai.” (QS. At-Taubah : 33).

“Ya Allah tunjukkan kepada kami yang haq itu haq, dan berilah kami kemampuan mengikutinya, dan tunjukkan kepada kami yang batil itu batil, dan berilah kami kekuatan menjauhinya.”

 

London: Bicycles for hire

As they say,it is better late than never.Now,I read London is following Paris in having bicycles for hire around the city[launched about a fortnight ago].Below is the snapshot of bike docking stations all over London-a few hundreds of them.Anyone has tried this?Kindly share your experience with us here.Thanks.

Allah loves al-Muhsinun

[3:133] Be quick in the race for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a Garden whose width is that (of the whole) of the heavens and of the earth, prepared for the righteous.[Dan segeralah kamu kepada (mengerjakan amal-amal yang baik untuk mendapat) keampunan dari Tuhan kamu dan (mendapat) Syurga yang bidangnya seluas segala langit dan bumi, yang disediakan bagi orang-orang yang bertakwa.]

Prophet Muhammad, upon him peace and blessings, addressed his companions on the day before Ramadan began, saying, “Oh people! A great month has come over you; a blessed month; a month in which is a night better than a thousand months; month in which God has made it compulsory upon you to fast by day, and voluntary to pray by night. Whoever draws nearer (to God) by performing any of the (optional) good deeds in (this month) shall receive the same reward as performing an obligatory deed at any other time, and whoever discharges an obligatory deed in (this month) shall receive the reward of performing seventy obligations at any other time.  It is the month of patience, and the reward of patience is Heaven.”

[3:134] Iaitu orang-orang yang mendermakan hartanya pada masa senang dan susah dan orang-orang yang menahan kemarahannya dan orang-orang yang memaafkan kesalahan orang dan (ingatlah), Allah mengasihi orang-orang yang berbuat perkara-perkara yang baik.

Free book from Guy Kawasaki : The Macintosh Way

I read this book more than 10 years ago and some months back I  gave away this book to my alma mater's library.Yesterday,I read that the author is giving away this book for free via pdf file but one must be a follower of his tweets.Today,Apple Inc is a big success story and as they say,the rest is a history.May I add,"It is interesting to read the history".

At one time,Apple was in trouble,and I wrote to Guy then that the company needed Steve Jobs back.

Below is a short note from the book that I love to share...

The Macintosh Way of doing business means doing the right thing and doing things right. It combines the informalityof the H-P Way and the flair of the Apple Way with an idealistic faith in employees, customers, and products. It is a way of doing business for people who are foolish or brave enough to try tomake a difference in a world of mediocrity.

I have seen more than enough mediocrity and &*%# in public and private sectors organisations and companies.For the moment,I am on sabbatical leave..

 

1st Ramadhan ,1431

Today is the first day of Ramadhan 1431.Alhamdulilah I was given the opportunity again this year to meet this Holy Month of Barakkah.Thank you ,my Lord-Allahu Rabbila'lamin.

Ya Allah,please grant me my humble wishes to do more ibadat to earn your forgiveness and attain the maqam of taqwa.Please assist and facilitate me in performing my ibadat and don't leave me alone to myself.I seek your guide and protection all the time and all the way.

Ya Allah,please makbul my du'a.

Social media and Ramadhan

Ramadhan is just around the corner.Maarhaban Ya Ramadhan!

A few days ago,I observed that a a few individuals are promoting Ramadhan as a blessed month in Islamic Calendar.A few Hadiths and verses from the Qur'an were qouted to inform and persuade readers to the benefits of doing more ibadah in Ramadhan al-Maburrak.I am very happy to note that Facebook is being used for the good benefits of the ummah.

Twitter is limited by its 140 characters per tweet  limit, but I saw a lot being used in Indonesia to inform about the activities of the masjids in the coming months.Personally,I am using blogs(The Reader),Facebook(Adib Noh) and Twitters(ululalbab/berisman)

I am looking forward to learn from others on more creative and engaging ways to promote,persuade and engage fellow muslims/muslimahs to Islam and Islamic way of life..

By the way,do you have the plan to make this coming Ramadhan better than your last one?
