School bullies,again?

I wrote about it about three years ago.You can read it,here.

A boy has died before and it is again!Have we ever learnt anything???Some do and many is 'business as usual'.I bet you,bullying is still going  on at some hostels right now.Here is the minister's warning.

As usual after such an incident happens,there will hues and cries and it keeps on happening again and again.Ever wondering why???

The above photo was taken while my son and me were doing our morning walk at Presint 10 ,Putrajaya.We arrived there at about 7.05am.It was a great experience walking here-the nice view,cool air and birds singing on the trees...

Engineer reflects ingenuity

I took my hat(rather kopiah) off to my fellow engineers who designed and constructed this hydraulic cum bridge structures at Precinct 5(next to PICC) in Putrajaya.It is functional and beautiful-albeit too much on the cosmetic side(the bridge part).Well...this is Putrajaya.

Road to Putrajaya

 On the way to Putrajaya yesterday morning,my son was telling me that he liked the place since he started to enjoy cycling with me at a few locations around the city and gardens.When we passed through the Pullman Hotel during our morning ride yesterday, he confessed to me that he liked to live in  the city with its wide roads,beautiful gardens and nice residential areas.Since he just completed his diploma,I told him to continue his education and get a degree so that he could earn higher salary and later have enough money to buy a house or an apartment.Properties are not cheap here-link house can cost RM500k,Semi-D can cost RM1m.Bungalows? I dare not ask!Putrajaya Holding Sdn Bhd is doing a lot of residential and commercial properties now.For those with means to buy,I think it is still a good time.

By the way,I am not talking about the political road to Putrajaya since my blog shall remains apolitical.As they say,all roads lead to Putrajaya!I leave that to the politicians..

Everyday,I heard and read about traffic jams in KL.I know I lived there more than 20 years.Congestions are every where and almost daily on working days.Now,I felt a great relief since I moved to the suburb,BBB-about 10km away from Putrajaya and 35km away from KL.I am quite happy to live in an affordable and quiet neighbourhood and yet I am not far from the commercial benefits/facilitis of KL and the sport/recreational facilities in Putrajaya.It is just like the convenient of  3 in 1 Nescafe for my breakfast;-)

Note on the photo: I snapped the above photo on one of my morning walks.Here I can enjoy walking,cycling and photography to my heart content without losing my arms and legs.

 

Daun-daun..

Gambar dibawah ini diambil semasa saya melintasi sebatang anak sungai yang airnya masih bersih mengalir laju.Apa yang menarik pandangan saya ialah beberapa  helai daun -satu berwarna kuning dan yang lain berwarna hijau tenggelam di dasar sungai...

Teringatlah saya kepada ayat berikut:

[18:45] Dan kemukakanlah kepada mereka misal perbandingan: Kehidupan dunia ini samalah seperti air yang Kami turunkan dari langit, lalu bercampur aduklah tanaman di bumi antara satu sama lain (dan kembang suburlah ia) disebabkan air itu; kemudian menjadilah ia kering hancur ditiup angin dan (ingatlah) adalah Allah Maha Kuasa atas tiap-tiap sesuatu.

Gambar dibawah melambangkan usia saya -warnanya sudah kuning...

Jika warna anda masih hijau,juga perlu ambil ingatan sebab daun yang hijau kadang kala jatuh ke bumi lebih awal dari daun-daun yang kuning di sebabkan oleh tiupan angin yang kencang...

Re-education?

I wrote  about being educated in Nov,2003 here.This subject came back to me again a few days ago when I was contemplating about my children education and mine too.I have three children-all boys.Two are already working and have received a tertiary education at university/professional levels.The third one,the youngest has finished his diploma and plans to continue his degree course by end of the year,insyaAllah.

All of us parents know that the formal education our kids had undergone is not enough.We have to chip in,especially on the religious aspects.I told my kids last night I will continue to 'intervene' in their 're-education' even though they already got married and have children of their own.My points of concerns are in the field of aqidah,akhlaq and amal.

Let me quote an excerpt from a book written by my learned friend Prof Dr Wan Mohd Nor Wan Daud entitled The Educational Philosophy and Practice of Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas-food for thought:

Al-Attas structure of Islamic University can be inferred from his critique of the modern Western university.As stated earlier,the Western university does not reflect man but the state.Even if it emulates man,it is not the true man but a secular, a political and economic one.He writes:

Like a man with no personality,the modern university has no abiding,vital centre,no permanent underlying principle establishing its final purpose.It still pretends to contemplate the universal and even claims to posses faculties and departments as if it were the body of an organ-but it has no brain,let alone intellect and soul,except only in terms of a purely administrative function of maintenance and physical development..The various faculties and departments within them..[have become] uncoordinated,each preoccupied with its own endless pursuits;each exercising its own 'free will''..

Nice gazebo

I believe there are hundreds of gazebos spread all over the many gardens in Putrajaya.Kudos to the planners and designers but very sadly under used by the public.Here is a beautiful one where I stopped by for a rest after my morning walk.The sun rays penetrating through the leaves make it  looks mystical!

If my memory does not fail me,then I started using moleskine notebook way back in January 2006.I think my dear friend Tim bought a copy for me during his USA trip.The caption under the photo said:
"My first entry into my moleskine notebook a year ago(2006) was made at this French restaurant. Today,I am repeating the ritual with my new notebook. After all,moleskine originated from France."

The reason I am writing about moleskine notebook was because I cut and glued a few photos into my Book of Passion last night of my first trip to South Africa about 15 years ago.It must be the World cup season now that poked my mind to the Most White of the Dark Continent.It brought me a huge smile to see my photo at Cape Of the Good Hope. I love the fish and chips there!

From my personal experience, the ambience of the place is very important to make me write...
