Walk with my mother

Owing to her heart problems,my mother has difficulties to walk longer distance.By the way she is 76 years old and had some fall injuries.Yesterday she took some courage to walk with me along PanTai Irama.I plan only to walk 200 metres and then sit with her watching the sun rise.Somehow,she picked some walking techniques I taught her and kept walking for more than 1km with a few stops.That was a great achievement at her age and health conditions. It was a great walk for her and a very memorable walk for a son and his mother along the beach.
On the way home,she asked me when will I take her again walking along Pantai Irama?

Thailand mango rice

Yesterday,when my wife and me were at TESCO,Ampang we decided to eat Thailand mango rice for our lunch.It cost us RM5 each plate.My first taste of this delicacy was when I was posted as the District Engineer of JKR Alor Setar,Kedah way back in 1981.It is made of mango,pulut(glutinous rice) and santan.

Sufi dialogue..

 Looking at this photo I took many years ago while doing my Sunday morning walk at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa(TTT),I could feel the serenity and vastness of the large body of calm water that formed the lake of TTT.It  occurred to me then that if only I could walk on water,it would be great!The engineer in my body whispered to me,"It is better to call your friend,the DG of DBKL to loan you a speed boat!".I just smiled to myself.Forget about technology-it is nothing like walking barefooted on water...Anyway,it was only a thought.....

As I continued my walk,I remembered the following conversations that took place many centuries ago between Hassan Al Basri and Rabi'atuladawiyyah:

Hasan: Ya Rabi'atuladawiyyah,let us go to the lake and walk on water.

Rabi': Ya Hasan,what is so great about walking on water?It is only the ability of the spider!

Hasan: In that case,let us go and fly.

Rabi':Well...that is the ability of birds.

On the way home,travelling at 90km/hr in my car,I looked back...just wondering who was pushing me forward?

MTB Best Blogger Award

 Selangor Mountain Bike Challenge Special Award-Best Blog

To my pleasant suprise I saw the name of cyling blog Trek Rider being nominated for the above award.Seven blogs are being considered for the final and annoucement will be made tomorrow 25th April,2010 during Selangor MTB Challenge.Last year,I took part,but not this year.

I write my blog just for my personal record and to share with others what I enjoyed doing.So far, a few confessed to me that they are inspired to start riding or re-start riding their bicycles again.At the same I got a few more new cycling buddies.That is more than enough rewards for my blog writing at The Trek Rider!

[8] Selain dari itu, sesungguhnya kamu akan ditanya pada hari itu, tentang segala nikmat (yang kamu telah menikmatinya)!

Untuk mengingati diri saya dan pembaca tentang kealpaan kita dalam menyediakan bekalan di akhirat nanti[It is not that we are not doing anything,but surely we could have done more!].Silat lihat,baca dan renung ayat ke 5 diatas.Mungkinkah kita masih belum cukup 'pengetahuan yang yakin'?
