Keep pushing...

 On the right is a photo of mine snapped by Elda using her iPhone while I was pushing my mountain bike up the Broga Hill some time in July,2009.I was very tired but I was determined to ride to the top of the hills like the rest of my riding buddies who are much younger.Sometimes, I have to stop and took a breather along the trail, but I kept pedalling and pushing and  when I can't pedal any more.Finally,I arrived at the top like the rest of my tribe.

The same principle can be adopted and adapted to our personal and business lives.To young men and women out there on your journey of life,obstacles may come along your way but keep going and pray to Allah swt for His Guidance and His Rahmah.InsyaAllah, we can achieve success in this World and the Hereafter.

Twitter-what is it?

As early adopter of web technology,I just use what is available in the cyberspace.A few of them were sucked into the Black Hole-not seen and heard anymore.I have been using twitter for quite some time (since April,2007)and I was wondering how could it be a social network apps because I seldom use it for that purpose.What about the others?For my social networking among my friends I use phone call and text messages(aka sms in Malaysia) to communicate.

Let's find out from the horse mouth,the owner/founder of Twitter.This is taken from an interview posted at The Guardian.

Being the CEO of Twitter, Biz Stone was quite sure that for him that wasn't the case. After having said to reporters earlier in the day that he was not thinking about selling the company but would rather go to the stock market if necessary, he started to relax the atmosphere, joking that he felt he was on a Seinfeld panel asking: "Social networks, what's the deal?"

Then he shuffled himself out of the responsibility of answering that question, stating that Twitter isn't even a social network. "Twitter never asked anyone to have a permanent relationship among each other. Indeed, we even changed the question we used to asked on Twitter 'What are you doing?' last week in 'What's happening?' because everybody was ignoring it anyway."

"I refer to Twitter as an information network rather then a social network. And here I believe in the trend of openness. Using an open technology, creating an open platform, and being more transparent that is where we are heading."

Stone believes that technology has a political impact that shouldn't be underestimated. Referring to Twitter's involvement in the Iranian election protests, he said: "On a large scale, the open exchange of information can even lead to positive global impact. If people are more informed they are more engaged, and if they are more engaged they are more empathic. They are global citizens, not just a citizen of a nation."

Now, you and know know what it is.Let's use for our mutual benefits.

Just saw text message on my mobile phone from my friend in Makkah.He informed me that wukuf shall be this Thursday.Eidul Adha shall then be on Friday 27th Nov,2009.

While I was having my morning walk,I got a call from my schoolmate.I invited him to come to Tasik Cempaka because my friend(also a schoolmate) had promised to deliver hot Dr Coffee from his house nearby for our morning breakfast and chit-chat.That was great! Thanks to my SDARA friends.

 
 

New exciting route at Putrajaya

Just completed about 16km of MTB cycling along Botanical Garden,Wetland and a few hilly parts close to government departments..Thanks to my riding buddies for your company.And special thanks to Muhaimy for leading the tribe to a new and exciting trail.

     
 

Off to solat..

When the muezzin calls for prayer,what do you do?Continue with your work,meeting or play? Yesterday,I had early lunch at 12pm and finished around 1.10pm at a PKNS shopping complex in Bangi,Selangor.On my way out to return home,I saw this note sitting nicely starring at me.The DJ at the centre court took time off to solat zohor at the surau.Not only the DJ, but also a few shops were closed temporarily to allow shopowners/salespersons to solat berjemaah.This group of people had shown a good example to me and others to give solat a priority in their daily lives.Alhamdulilah syukrilah..

Have you ever experienced missing your solats during a meeting ,seminar or travelling in car? The best is do as soon as you could,otherwise there is a possibility that we cannot do our solat in time.As an example,before we return home from work,it is better to do solat 'asar first before we get  into our cars and got stuck in a traffic jam.
