Between truth and falsehood..

We donot need to have the minds of rocket scientists to differentiate between the truth and falsehood.With some knowledge and pondering on what have been going on at global,national,society and individual level,we should have known what is the truth and the falsehood in this business of life. We can choose to believe or not to believe;and we can choose to do or not to do;and likewise to be or not to be.The truth exists on its own but falsehood needs to be invented!

[18:28] And keep thy soul content with those who call on their Lord morning and evening, seeking His Face; and let not thine eyes pass beyond them, seeking the pomp and glitter of this Life; nor obey any whose heart We have permitted to neglect the remembrance of Us, one who follows his own desires, whose case has gone beyond all bounds.

Maksudnya:Dan janganlah kamu mematuhi orang yang hatinya telah Kami lalaikan dari mengingati Kami,serta mengikut hawa nafsunya(yang jahat)

[11:113] And incline not to those who do wrong, or the Fire will seize you; and ye have no protectors other than Allah, nor shall ye be helped.

[18:110] Say: "I am but a man like yourselves, (but) the inspiration has come to me, that your God is one God: whoever expects to meet his Lord, let him work righteousness, and, in the worship of his Lord, admit no one as partner.

Higher Secrets of Life
The Sunnah shows us the best way to develop and use one's freedom of choice and action. It teaches us how to embark upon any action properly so as to ensure good and favourable results and avoid harmful and evil consequences both in this world as well as in the hereafter.
Ibn Masud, may Allah be pleased with him, relates that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Adhere to the truth, for the truth leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. A person continues to speak the truth until (at last) his name is written down with Allah as a truthful person. And avoid falsehood, for falsehood leads to shameful deeds, and shameful deeds lead to Hell. A person continues to tell lies until (at last) his name is recorded with Allah as a liar." [Bukhari, Muslim, Ahmad, Tirmidhi]
This hadith clearly tells us that before a man is recorded for eternity as a truthful person he has to go through a number of phases, each requiring his active initiative and a willing effort on his part without any external interference from any side. This is clear from the contrast portrayed in the hadith between man's state of choosing and abiding willingly and consciously at each and every step by the dictates of truth and his state of opting for the evil and persisting therein. Obviously it is man alone who decides which way he is going to move, toward the good or the bad.

Appointed by Her Majesty..

Today is a special day for me.I was officially appointed by Her Majesty The Queen of My Household to be the photographer.As a 'professional photographer',I must charged my client an appropriate fees commensurate with my new status.On the right/below are some of the photos from Her Majesty's Garden and my fees is a bungkus of nasi kerabu with daging bakar from Kedai Pak Wan,Pasar Komplek,Taman Nirwana;-),Ampang.

I love blogging

Honestly,I don't have to tell my fellow readers/visitors of this blog that I love blogging.I have been doing that almost daily for the last five years.I am posting this note in response to Typepad,the blogging software (that I am using right since 2003) initiative to get its subscribers and fellow bloggers to write 5 reasons on why the love blogging.

Below is my list:

1.I can download  what is on my mind and in my heart.

2.I can share with others of what may be of  interest and benefitial to others who read my blog.

3.I am having fun in composing the notes as well as choosing/uploading photos as conversational pieces for my readers.

4.I have made a lot of new friends via my blogs.

5.It keeps me writing almost daily.

This is my 3rd time going to Taman Botani but I missed this beautiful arches that led to a small garden surrounded by a few structures.I love it..

This morning, my gang of cyclists went for a detour at Taman Botani,KLCC and I was pleasantly suprised to see a few hundreds of anglers with their families members are having fun fishing and at the same time having a picnic around the lake.What a lovely sight...

Fatwa ulama

[179] Dan sesungguhnya Kami jadikan untuk Neraka Jahanam banyak dari jin dan manusia yang mempunyai hati (tetapi) tidak mahu memahami dengannya (ayat-ayat Allah), dan yang mempunyai mata (tetapi) tidak mahu melihat dengannya (bukti keesaan Allah) dan yang mempunyai telinga (tetapi) tidak mahu mendengar dengannya (ajaran dan nasihat); mereka itu seperti binatang ternak, bahkan mereka lebih sesat lagi; mereka itulah orang-orang yang lalai.

[180] Dan Allah mempunyai nama-nama yang baik (yang mulia), maka serulah (dan berdoalah) kepadaNya dengan menyebut nama-nama itu dan pulaukanlah orang-orang yang berpaling dari kebenaran dalam masa menggunakan nama-namaNya. Mereka akan mendapat balasan mengenai apa yang mereka telah kerjakan.

Kebelakang ini ada diantara kita umat Melayu yang beragama Islam dengan terang,nyata dan vocal menolak fatwa ulama kerana mereka berpendapat lain daripada pendapat atau keputusan ulama.Pada hemat saya,golongan ulama adalah kumpulan kecil orang celik ilmu didalam bidang keahlian masing-masing;dan ramai dari kita kumpulan besar tapi buta ilmu.Adalah amat tidak wajar jika saya yang buta ingin ikut jalan orang-orang yang buta kerana kami dari golongan majoriti.Mengikut ucapan yang saya dengar dari Prof Syed Naquib al-Attas,beliau menjelaskan bahawa tidak ada demokrasi dalam ilmu.Yang haq tetap benar walaupun datangnya dari golongan minoriti.Pada hemat saya,jika saya sakit,saya lebih percaya pandangan doktor pakar dari pandangan sahabat atau ahli keluarga saya sendiri.

According to my opinion?

Let me begin with an example-in the case of the MRR2 which is being repaired now.When someone asked me what do you think,and straight away I replied," According to my opinion...".Even though I am a  civil engineer by training,I should not give my views  without really knowing the  facts/figures  about cracks  and without reading the technical reports. Even after doing all that, the appointed  experts disgreed on how the defects happened. Now, what is the value of my opinion as an ordinary engineer compared to experts who are subject matter experts.What is worse, the comments from the laymen who have zero knowledge on structural engineering!

When it comes to religous matters, we as ordinary folks(I am one of them) should not jump to give our views. Our main reference are Qur'an,Hadith,Ijmak Ulama and Qias. All of us should refer  to the four sources before we could afford to say,"According to my opinion...". Personally,I would not even say that because of my limited knowledge.I prefer to qoute some authorised source than giving my personal opinion.

So, we must be careful in whatever we say,we do and we believe because it may affect our aqidah. In case of doubt, ask clarification from the right person and refrain from takwil aljahilun(discourse of the ignorants-bicara orang-orang jahil). According to Dr Syed Naguib al- Attas, takwil aljahilun is a form of corruptions of knowledge.

Wallahu-a'lam.

Hello,Public Sector

On 6/6/06,The Prime Minister experessed his dissatifaction on the poor delivery of projects by public sector.And yesterday,he said it again in his usual diplomatic way to remind the public sector to speed up the projects.There are many reasons for delay in project implementation.From my experience in government department/agencies/GLC,the first thing is to examine the competency of a particlular organisation to plan and execute the projects.This matter must be resolved first,if not nothing changes.-Mohd Adib Noh

Public sector told to speed up projects

KUALA LUMPUR: Only 70% of the RM7bil economic stimulus package announced last November has been disbursed and Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi wants the public sector to buck up in planning and implementing people-oriented projects.

The prime minister said that if the money was not spent quickly the Government’s effort to stimulate growth to cushion the impact of the global economic recession would not be realised.

“We understand that the allocation has been given, so it is the duty and responsibility of all of us to work as quickly as possible so that the projects can be implemented,” he said at the Defence Ministry’s monthly assembly here Tuesday.

Abdullah, who is also Defence Minister, said the country’s economic growth would be further boosted by a second stimulus package to be announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minsiter Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at the current Dewan Rakyat sitting.

“This will surely involve a big expenditure, maybe more than that given out last November.

“This calls for all of us (in the public sector) to work harder so that what has been allocated is implemented as soon as possible,” he said.

Abdullah said that in the current economic scenario, the public sector was regarded as important and with a big role to play in rehabilitating the economy to ensure that the many projects planned were implemented by the private sector, whose role was to catalyse economic economic growth.

“As we work to rehabilitate the economy as best we can, it is the Government’s policy for the private sector to be the catalyst of our economic growth,” he said. -- Bernama

Next, I must learn how to send posting using my palm pda(T3) via BT mobile phone(T610).

Nowaday,I don't need a pda and a mobile phone anymore.Just a smart phone like Treo 680 or E71 will do.No need to learn how to configure-just snap the photo,write a tiltle and some text,and send to an email address.Two years ago I tried to do that and my posting took 5 days to get posted.It has got nothing to do with the phone but the telco.With my new Nokia E71, I tried to take  a few photos in the last two weeks and the posting is reasonably fast.It took a few minutes before my photo blogging get posted at My Story Blog.

The blog is more about photos I  snap along the road when I travel..

Family walk

Family walk

Since August,2008 I have not been doing my usual morning walk at KLCC garden.This morning, I plan to take my son for a brisk morning walk- a father and son family exercise.

The photo on the right showed my friend and his wife and his children walking together in the garden-having exercise and having fun.What a beautiful sight! For my peers,our kids are big boys and grown up adults and many have their own families-with wives and children of their own.

Most of us are on our own now and our best friends are our spouses.C'est la vie...
