Most of the Haj Pilgrims now are in Mina. One can see thousands of white tents scattered across the valley.By tomorrow, millions of them will be going back to Makkah for Saie and Tawaf.
During my Haj pilgrimage five years ago, I witnessed something that I wish to share with fellow readers. On the first morning we arrived from Muzdalifah to Mina, most of us were tired and we stayed in our respective tents. However , not for two young men in their 30's. They chosed to stay outside the comfort of the tents and stood by the roadside at the entrance of the campsite. Then I saw an old lady walked by looking lost and tired after walking a few kilometres because the bus she was on did not manage to enter Mina.I knew some even walked 5 kilometres due to traffic jams or their buses got lost in their way.One of my friends on KT22 only arrived at 5pm.
The two young men stopped this lady and talked to her.One of them went back into the tent and got some food and drink. They fed her. After that, they took her to do her 'melontar' at the three Jamrah and later on took her to her group a few hundreds metres away.I took my kopiah off for these generous young men who went were there looking for people who needed helps.May Allah reward them with Haj Mabrur, insyaAllah.
A few of us who arrived early decided to provide helps to those who arrived late.I saw one senior citizen in his 60's arrived by walking a few kilometres and he looked tired and hungry. So, I took a bottle of mineral water and offered him a drink to quench his thirst. He took the bottle of water from me and threw away right in front of my face.I got the shock of my life and immediately made du'a to Allah swt to forgive him.For your information, his bus must got stuck a few kilometres away from Mina and he had to walk all the way...
To perform our Haj,we need a lot of patience. If you wish to know how much patience you have,be one of the pilgrims. Those who had been there know what I meant. In a few cases,I also have failed miserably.May Allah swt forgive my weaknesses,InsyaAllah.
Abedib, it's true that we will not know our level of patience until we go through the tests ourselves.
May we & the guy who threw back the water bottle right on your face receive Allah's forgiveness & continuous guidance.
