It scares me reading the statement made by Tan Sri Razali Ismail of Syabas about the potential threats to three dams in Klang Valley. It reminded me of the event of water shortage in 1997.The Minister of KTAK gave his assurance here.Knowing that Interbasin Water Transfer project from Pahang to Selangor is a few years behind schedule,I am worried if what Tan Sri Razali statement will take place. If there were no proactive initiatives taken to mitigate the risks of the potential dangers,we are in deep trouble when it occurs.
We only know the value of our water when the well(taps) runs dry...
How well did we take care of our rivers that gave us 97% of water supply needs?I have posted my view here-way back almost ten years ago.We ignore the signs at our own perils.
Note: The photo shown is my collection of water bottles.
Abedib.
The only effective initiatives would be the ones that (may) come from the most worldly powerful, the voters! BTW, do we have real trusted alternatives?
