At about 10.15am today I got a call from my mentor, and we fixed a meeting at KLCC.When we arrived,I asked him which restaurant and he replied La Cucur.I counter proposed Starbuck,The Dome or SFC.He said no-just La Cucur will do.
Just look at the bill I paid.It cost less than RM11 for two adults for our coffee break. I think my mentor(a Tan Sri) was telling me to be prudent in my expenditures. If we were to go to Starbuck,I could not even buy a cup of latte.
By the way, do you have a mentor? It is good to have one for us to consult and get a second opinion.
At KLCC?? Not Bad. Not Bad at all..

Salam Abedib,
I've a few mentors and I'm glad that you are one of them. I strongly believe everyone should have at least a mentor at any point of time be it for business or personal endeavors.
Hari ni berkampung kat KLCC ke? Saw you at Little Penang with a friend during tea time. How much was the damage? My foreign uni mate belanja me latte @ Dome. Damage was RM 25 for 2 latte.

Salam pak adib!
Very nice question to end your daily post today :) hmm why yes, fortunately my loving father would be my no.1 mentor. no.2 my mum. and no.3 a teacher of mine. An english teacher who taught me for at least 9 years. no.4 an ustaz i had for 10 years. Till the day i flew off to UK. Even so, i still meet the two teachers respectively and talk to them about life and what's going on my mind.
I love the fact that mentors like these people help us regain our strength and prowess in order to succeed in whatever we are doing. :)
hope i made sense ;)

I had mentors but probably did not make full use of them to improve myself. Over time many people had declared I am their mentor. Of course I felt elated but just keep wondering what I have done to deserve it. When you listen more before you talk, people think you are wise. ;-)

Wow, Pak Adib. I wish I had a mentor who could guide me along for the 14 years that I was a single mother, shouldering heavy responsibilities single-handedly and feeling lost most of the time, trying to cope with growing children and putting food on the table. I knew I needed a friend to share my woes but there never seemed to be anyone around when you were down. Now when the going is much better, everyone is crawling out of the woodworks to be a friend. Sad isn't it, Pak?

My first mentor, my beloved dad, than my long list of "bapa angkat"(whom i meet from back in the village to penang when studying there and again back in kl as "perantau"), as negorian's pepatah "induk semang cari dahulu"
Hopefully Pak Adib also could be a good mentor to me! :)

I do agree about having mentors Pak Adib. Even Jack Canfield recommends it. It is useful in my opinion to a mentor for each field that you are pursuing, so that they can guide you. I consider you one of my mentors also :-)

Abedib,
My Mentor is my Beloved - because He always ready and sincere to listen to whatever the grudges I have in my mind. And His guidance is always available - the Qur'an and the Sunnah of His prophet. As the Prophet SAW himself said - Addabani Rabbi fa ahsana ta'dibi.

But Starbuck's shepherd pie is the best, so sometimes I sinfully make my visit to the taste of it. The cheaper choice is Old Town Coffee..

Wassalam and thanks to all who had left their comments on this posting.
Hilmi,
It made sense to me.
Mshah,
At our age, we must act wisely-even though many a time I am not that wise myself.Btw, not many of us are good listeners.
Kamaliah,
Pada umumnya begitu adat resam manusia...
Aliff,
InsyaAllah.
Omecool,
You are most welcome.
Kakja,
Today,I succumbed to the temptation of Apple strudel;-)

Same cucur and drinks at a regular kedai outside of KLCC would cost about half that. But, that's what you pay for Location, Location, Location!!
Interesting question about a mentor .... tak pernah terfikir pulak. But I suppose anybody's life would be more guided with a mentor in the picture.

QOTH,
Location and ambience do matter.
Thanks for your kind words:-)

La Cucur's price is half that of Dome/SB/SFC.
Mamak's price is half that of La Cucur.
Beloved wife's home made tea is half that of Mamak's & in fact priceless... ;-)
