Sleeping pilots

Sleep is a debt one must pay without delay.Otherwise,we are courting for troubles!

This morning,I heard over the radio that a plane was travelling with its two pilots falling asleep!
I have heard of bus drivers and lorry drivers falling asleep while driving but  pilot falling asleep.
On next flight, I must check with air stewardess to find out from time to time whether someone is awake at the cockpit.

Last one, I read in the Reader's Digest that lack of sleep is a major contributor to road accident in US.From the news I read in Malaysia, we are no better.

So, if we feel sleepy,DON'T drive.Period.

In this age of automation whereby planes can be instructed to take off, cruise and land on their own, it is normal for pilots to take cat naps. Definitely not both at the same time.
For long hauls two sets of pilots are provided whereby one set is supposed to rest by lying down in their bunkers.
The pilots who went to sleep as mentioned must have been very irresponsible and deserve to be grounded.
