A kind of Blue

Yesterday I got the special favour from my friend to accompany me to Tower Records at KLCC to select some 'easy listening' music. He knows I like jazz and straight away we went into the Jazz Section of the music mega store. Sadly, I could not get a copy of A Kind of Blue-SOLD OUT:-(

According to Bob,the supervisor, there are three hot albums now but all sold out as soon as they arrive at the shop. The three are A Kind of Blue, Time Out and When Harry met Sally sountrack. Do you know any where else I could lay my hands on these CD's?

Special Notice to those who love writing in their diaries/journals:

My friends and I are organising a get together for moleskine notebook owners/users this Saturday 2/12/2006 at Starbuck Coffee at KL Sentral from 2pm onwards. This meeting is to share our knowledge/experience in writing journals and any other matters of mutual interests. Anyone of you are welcome to join the conversations irrespective whether you are  writing  journals (not necessarily using moleskine) or not. No entrance fees.

Being more helpful

Yesterday, a friend told me that he seldom goes out since the last two months. When I asked him why, he explained that he preferred to be around the house helping his pregnant wife with her house chores.Good boy, my friend!

Only ladies can talk on being pregnant. As a father to three children, every time my wife got pregnant,I was worried. There were so many things that can go wrong. As a man I could not imagine how I would feel looking at my stomach getting bigger everyday and knowing someone is living and growing inside my body!

So, men out there, be extra helpful and loving to your pregnant wives.

All of us have our own mountains to climb.Let me share a short paragraph from the book Like The Flowing River by Paulo Coelho:

Often you can see the mountain in the distance-beautiful,interesting, full of challenges. However,when you try to reach it,what happens? It is surrounded by roads;forests lie between you and your objective;and what seems clear on the map is far more complicated in reality. So you must try all the paths and tracks until, one day, you find yourself before the peak you intend to climb.

This is a very unique 'tudung saji' I noticed when I am back home with my mother this weekend.It reminds me of the a European castle where A mad king used to live.

Malu : sifat orang beriman.Lihat contoh Rasulullah s.a.w.

Malu-malu : Bukan malu,saperti gila-gila,tidak gila.

Bicara seorang pemandu terhadap bosnya:

Bos saya semuanya ada.Ada jawatan tinggi,ada gaji besar,ada rumah besar,ada pejabat besar.Semuanya ada tapi malu tak ada.Semuanya dia kebas...Biar saya miskin ,tapi saya masih ada malu.

Hari demi hari,sifat dan budaya malu terhakis oleh arus kehidupan moden yang penuh dengan  tipu daya sesuai dengan nafsu manusia.Lihat dan perhatilah manifestasi perilaku manusia(Muslim atau bukan Muslim) yang mencerminkan sifat malu mereka sudah dihanyut oleh banjir kilat di semua kota di seluroh dunia.

Tanpa malu,semua boleh berlaku....

Weekly lectures on Islam

 

Below is a copy of invitation I received from BPG for your information.I have attended a few lectures by YM Professor Dr. Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas a few years ago at ISTAC at his Saturday night lectures and I strongly recommend to anyone who wishes to learn more about Islam to attend his lectures. Book launch

Last weekend my wife and me attended the book launch on the invitation by my dear friend Gabra and his wife.Thank you to both of you for your kindness.

The book is entitled Hamas Unwritten Chapters and the author is Dr Azzam Tamimi.It was officially launched by YB Dato Syed Hamid Albar,our minister of foreign Affairs at Museum of Islam Art.

Second,I would like to congratulate the organiser Malaysian Muslim Professionals Forum for doing a really good job in launching this book.I have attended a few book launches before,but this is the best so far!

According to the author, he wrote the book from primary sources. This is important to me because nowadays we have a lot of 'doctored facts' or misinformation/ disinfomation about many subjects/ issues.
