The latest news I read about the fuel price is going to be USD64 a barrel.Year to-date,the price increase is about 42%.No wonder I need MR 100 to fill my car fuel tank instead of my usual MR70.
What should or could I do? As a consumer,I must cut down my unnecessary travels or make the travels more effective in order to keep within my budget. As far the cost of goods, they will go up -justified or unjustified. The cost of living is definitely will go up and in fact has gone up.How much ,I don't know. But the bottom line is our purchasing power is reduced.Personally, I have to live within my budget. As a businessman, with that percentage increase, the price of services/goods had to be increased or accept lower profit/minimise one's loss.
By the way,to manage this issue positively,I must re-examine my life-style so that I will reduce any wastage to the minimum. This is an opportunity, forced by soaring fuel price to live a simpler life.
reduced expenses=minimised food n travel=FASTING.
very timely with Rejab here, Syaaban n Ramadhan approaching. =P
and this sort of post will always remind me of ppl's remarks, "harga minyak naik, harga barang naik, gaji tak naik-naik jugak, bila nak buat pilihanraya nieh?" hehee..

Today Utusan Malaysia front page reported that PESTA NAIK HARGA sudah bermula...price increase ranges from 5% to 50%!
Now, I just wonder which is better-govt pays for the fuel subsidies or rakyat pays for the increase in prices of everyday goods/services?

Btw, I love riding my mountain bike. However, the knees are getting too old...
Fatihah,
I don't think city folks like some of us will survive living in kampung. They can't go without their latte or earl grey tea;-) plus some scones.
