Below is a collage of photos taken from a location inside Coffee Box Restaurant located along Jalan Tun Perak,KL.After walking for more than two hours during the Scott Kelby Photowalk(5th Oct,2013) from Chow Kit area to Masjid Jamek area,a few of us needed a rest and some food and drinks. While waiting for the food/drinks to arrive,I saw 'slides' of people passing through the arch doorway.Normally in street photography, shots of people are taken at different places-why not take different shots from the same place.Trying to be creative and different,I took photos of passers-by just from one location-right in the comfort of the Coffee Box Restaurant. Here are the photos..#WWPW #WWPW-KL
Now,it is coming to one year since I bought Paper 53 ,an apps that enables me to sketch better that I could with my pen or pencil or water colours in my moleskine notebook.To-date,I have posted 408 sketches at conteng2.tumblr.com.From that amount,I have selected about 300 that I think it is nice to share with others what I have learnt, produced and share my joys of sketching. My wild imagination told me to sell my sketches collection as an eBook;-)
I am not an artist but an old engineer in my early sixties. As I fade away,I like to make the last part of my journey more colourful with my sketching and photography hobbies..
Many of photographs I snapped and sketches I drew are not worth sharing with others online, and yet I did.I am not shy to learn.By posting online via my blogs and Facebook,I got feedback from my friends. From their comments/suggestions I learn a lot and along the way,I have improved to some extent that I began to love the photos I snapped and the simple sketches I did. Most of us donot know that we are creative in some way.We have to explore our own abilities and see how far could we go..There are frustrations, excitements and joys along the journey but that make our lives more interesting and colourful..La vita e bella.
Once our minds are engaged in creative activities like photography and sketching,to my pleasant suprise I discovered that I began to be more creative in my work and personal lives.
I was very lucky yesterday on my way back home from KL.It was hot and sunny and I managed to capture these two snapshots as I travelled along MEX elevated highway.By the way,I was not driving.
The above shot were made using the built-in camera in my iPad.Nowadays, the quality of camera in mobile device is a big factor that determine who win in the market for mobile smart phones.Previously ,it was a practical convenience preferred to have. Now,it is a must feature with expected high quality.I have a compact camera and yet I do not take it with me all the time but I have my smart phone/device with me most of the time. So,the quality of built-in phones DOES matter.Samsung and Apple will fight out there...
With instangram and facebook,we can share photos easily with friends and family members.
Now,everyone can snap photos..including me.However, the quality varies according your ability and luck.
First, let me thank Allah for a good weather and we have a fun and safe photowalk yesterday at Taman Botani, Putrajaya. Second, let me thank all my friends who came for the walk.Third,my thanks to DKN for the fried beehun.
Most people said it is the man behind the camera that mattters but yesterday I also learnt that the camera is also a great factor to capture great shot. The photo on the right was shot using a macro lens lent by Capt.Adzmi for me to use with my Canon 400D.He also gave tips on how to shoot macro and I learnt a new phrase -plane of focus and the importance of background.Another lesson, which applies to most amateur photographers like me is our little knowledge on making the best use of our camera-its strengths and limitations and exploit them fullest.Thank you Capt. Mohd Adzmi Ariffin.
As the organiser,I am very happy to see my friends having fun with their camera, enjoying the beautiful landscaped garden and a good walkabout-good for the legs and the hearts as well.
Nowadays, most of us take photos everyday with our mobile devices like phones and tablets. Why not create a blog for those photos to share with your family and relatives. Here is a link on how to do it.I know many of you had upload the photos to Facebook but I find it difficult to locate them whenever I need to see those photos again.
For storage of my photos,I subscribe to Flickr but for sharing,I suggest the free ones from blogspot.com or tumblr.com.Just choose one that suit you best. Here is what I wrote last year-Photoblog 2.0 and another in February,2005.
I just discovered this photo a few days ago when I reviewed the photos inside my thumb drive. It was taken by Mr G L from Holland.Thank you Guus for a candid photo of my son and me at KLIA.
While we were struggling to hold the iPad in position,my dear friend Guus just snapped us for fun...
By the way,I used to laugh at people using their tablet phones making a call..Now,it is my turn the other way around. When I have enough money.I shall buy either iPhone 5 or SGN2.These phones have better cameras and they are much smaller than my iPad2.
Below is an example of instagram photo taken using my iPad2 at Taman Saujana Hijau..
