Hi Adib, This weekend I spent some time looking back on my journal for 2012. Each year in late December I set intentions for the next year and write a summary of what I learned over the past year.I like doing this because it helps me get clear on what I want, from both a very general/overall view, as well as, specifics I'd like to strive for. I really do believe that everything in life is a choice and by getting clear about what I really want versus just doing what I've been doing, I set myself up for living a really happy, fulfilling life. I was recently reading an article by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, and Les Hewitt in the Law of Attraction Magazine about "have to's". They said, "The reason you are where you are in life is simply a result of all the choices you have made to this point... When you accept total responsibility for this fact, you are well on your way to enjoying peace of mind. Many people endure a life filled with frustration because they are stuck in Have-To's... When you constantly live your life in Have-To Land, you put yourself in a position of pressure. This causes resistance and resentment and drains your energy. When you live each day from a position of Choose-To, you are in a position of power." So true, right? We often give our power away by blaming our circumstances on other people and things, when that's the worst thing we could do because doing that just keeps us stuck. Empower yourself and set your intentions for 2013 like me. Sure, I may not hit 100% of them, but I'll be happy if I get 80% because I know that by getting clear on what I want, I'm headedin the right direction. Plus, life isn't about perfection. It's about growth, creativity, self-discovery. And that can be messy! But it can also be really, really fun. |
