Progress is not equal to development.Once,we know our desired destination and when we are moving near to the target,then we are making progress.Change for change sake is not progress when one is moving sideways and backwards from the desired target.
If the desired destination is a wrong choice, then one can take any roads.Hence ,knowledge is needed to see things as they are and not as one perceived to be true.
But then,if the journey is the destination-enjoy the trip..

In islam how do you measure progress? Height of sky scrapers? well design and constructed roads or bridges?

First,we must define what progress in Islamic context.Then we select the right attributes to measure?By the way,as an example,how do we measure the level of our taqwa or obedience to the commands of Allah?
