Arabic script is written right to left (opposite English), BUT their numbers are written left to right (just like English)! In practice this means that Arabs have to read in TWO DIRECTIONS whenever they read something containing numbers!
My question is why Arabic numbers are written from left to right and not right to left like the Arab scripts?Thank you for your kind answer and explaination,

Perhaps because they read/say the numbers from smallest to biggest, so they really write nimbers from right to left too.

Kalau mengikut apa yg cikgu Bahasa Arab saya cakap dlm kelas pada 29 November tahun lepas, contoh:
٦٣ - dalam Bahasa Arab ia disebut salasun wa sittun. ia ditulis dari kanan ke kiri, tapi masih dibaca dari kiri ke kanan, di mana kita sebut ٣ (salasun) terlebih dahulu, barulah ٦٠ (sittun).
