Yes, we must work for this world as if we are going to live here forever,BUT are working for the akhirat as if we are going to die tomorrow???I am guilty as charged even at my age.There are so many attractions and distractions for us to upgrade the quantity and quality of our ibadah.Yes, we have done some ibadah but we all know it is not enough and we could do more and yet we are complacent.
When was the last time we do our muhasabah?
Let me share this tazkirah I wrote in Appril 2005.Kindly read and ponder upon it.In this world,we can be rich or poor,healthy or sick,famous or nobody etc but all these are temporal and will come to an end when we die.In the akhirat,it is forever...Let us all be reminded,especial me.
Dari Syadad bin Aus r.a., dari Rasulullah saw., bahwa beliau berkata, ‘Orang yang pandai adalah yang menghisab (mengevaluasi) dirinya sendiri serta beramal untuk kehidupan sesudah kematian. Sedangkan orang yang lemah adalah yang dirinya mengikuti hawa nafsunya serta berangan-angan terhadap Allah swt. (HR. Imam Turmudzi, ia berkata, ‘Hadits ini adalah hadits hasan’)
