A few years back,I was taught about 20 types of physical exercises to improve my health by my cousin.
A few of them are now beyond my ability to perform due to possible strains on my aging muscles but I normally practise about half of them which are easier for me to do.
By the way,I only do these exercises before I start my morning walk-twice weekly. By right,I should have done it every day.As most people, I wish to remain healthy but we are too lazy(with so many excuses) to make a small effort for our own good health.
Yesterday I talked to a friend who has taken a new hobby-riding mountain bikes. He told me he has lost about 20kg! That really inspired me to check my bike that was collecting dust in the kitchen! On checking my 10 years old Haro Bike,I think I must get a new bike to motivate me to get fit again and enjoy the cool breeze on downhill:-)
Many, many years back I used to ride mountain bike and even took part(literally speaking because I didnot complete the full 3 laps) of an International Mountain Bike race in Semenyih.
Anyone out there wish to join me next year?
NB: Thanks to Honeytar for the photo.

Remember the bikes at Tok Li I put up at my Flickr? Yes, I would like to have that one!
Another friend of mine has one which can be lifted with only one finger. So light yet so powerful. But... RM10K lah body aje... another RM10K for the accessories. Itu pun they considered it 'cheap'! Duhh...

Yes, I remember. There are cheaper versions but good enough for ordinary folks like us to have fun with some exercises.I went to see a bikeshop near Ampang Point( Joo Ngan) and it is selling affordable mountain bikes~price ranges from RM800 to RM1500. The one that was recommended by a fellow bike rider is Trek 3700 and the price is below RM1500.

Assalamualaikum Pak Adib. Trek is branded at par with the likes of specialized, gary fisher etc. They're expensive. There are even cheaper frames out there although a bit on the heavy side. pak Adib the expensive part of the bike you'll find when ur an avid mtbiker is not in the frame but more so in the little knick knacks - shimano xtr part etc etc etc. erghh. but if you don't intend to enter something akin to the le tour de france maybe something cheaper would do? but then again since you can well afford something pricey why not!
Good luck in your biking keep it up.

Gabra,
My friend lost his weight from 100kg to 8about 80kg.Getting the bike is the easier part but I don't know whether I could have his discipline to ride every week for 20 to 50 kilometres.I am willing to part away with RM1500 if I could just reduce my weight by 10kg;-)
Israd,
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience in biking. My old bike was only RM1200 but the accesories may cost another a few hundreds!
