Missing in Amalan

Last week our Ustaz Haji Halim mentioned about an Arabic saying:

Qur'an was revealed in Makkah, recited very well by the Egyptians,was written in Turkey and intellectually discussed in India.

A friend seated next to me whispered:Where is Qur'anic teachings being practised by the ummah?I whispered back: You ask the Ustaz.

Let me qoute these ayats from Surah al-Baqarah:-

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

[1] Alif Lam Mim. [2] This is the book; in it is guidance, sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah; [3] Who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them; [4] And who believe in the Revelation sent to thee, and sent before thy time, and (in their hearts) have the assurance of the Hereafter. [5] They are on (true guidance), from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper.

Just ask ourselves,do we refer to the Qur'an as our Guide in living our everyday lives? Do our deeds so far demonstrated that we really believe in the Qur'an as mentioned in the ayats above? It is not easy to live by The Book, but all of us must try harder....
