The Power of Iman
During the Kuliah Subuh last weekend, my guru talked about The Power of Iman. He qouted Saiyidina Umar Ibn Khattab as an example. Please read some interesting examples here on how people behaviour changed when the Iman entered their hearts.
Another example mentioned by my guru is when a group of sorcecers turned against Firaun and declared their belief to the teachings of Prophet Musa a.s when they discovered the truth .When threatened by Firaun with death, they were willing to die for their belief. The story is mentioned in the Qur'an Surah Ash-Shu'araa [26:29-51].
After reading the contents of the link I mentioned above and the dialogue between Firaun,Nabi Musa and the sorcerers,it is time to reflect on the level of the iman prevailing in our muslim society today..what happen when the iman leaves the hearts?
Iman is the driving force. If we let it deteriorates, our values will follow suit.It is OUR CHOICE to be strong or to be weak. Many muslim nations are weak today because we muslims have chosen to have weak iman.
Note: The photo above was taken last night(malam Jumaat) at our surau.Less than 10% of the muslims/muslimahs in our khariah attended the solat jemaah.I also observed that less than 5% regularly attended the majlis ilmu.At our masjid, there are more columns than the people listening to religous lectures:-(
IMHO, strong iman can be achieved only with ilmu and ibadah AND with consent of Allah.

alhamdulillah.. another good sharing pak dib. =)
personally, i've always believed that Iman is the driving force in whatever the undertakings are. succeed or fail may pretty much determined by our Iman, other than hard works and all, apart from solat hajat, istikharah etc.
when u have the faith that He is indeed The Almighty and everything happens only with His consent, then, that's pretty much it. Have faith/ Iman, and it shall prevail.. insyaAllah.

Thanks Fatihah for your feedback.
I will try my best to share whatever knowldege I learnt with others. The thing that I worried most is the "corruption of knowledge" when it gets transfered from a student like me who may not understood the real meaning of the teaching like a guru.It is better, if we can learn from the guru himself.Like Ilmu Tasawuf, I learn from the guru himself-Dr Musa Fatullah Harun.
However, there exist another type of knowledge that no one can teach us.It comes with our own personal experience.
Walahua'lam.
